Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Price to ₦1,200 Per LitreDangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has lowered its gantry price for premium motor spirit (petrol) to ₦1,200 per litre, marking a reduction from its previous rate. The company disclosed that its coastal price now stands at ₦1,153 per litre, a move expected to influence fuel distribution costs across the country. The adjustment represents a drop of about ₦75 from the earlier price of ₦1,275 per litre and signals a shift in the refinery’s pricing structure.
According to the company, the reduction comes amid ongoing volatility in global oil markets, largely driven by tensions in the Middle East, which continue to affect supply chains, shipping routes, and insurance costs.
The new pricing is likely to impact marketers, who are expected to revise their landing costs, especially those sourcing fuel locally instead of relying on imports. Lower ex-depot prices could also translate into reduced pump prices at retail outlets over time.
The refinery noted that increased local refining capacity is helping to cushion Nigeria from global market shocks, even as international uncertainties persist.
