Lagos Nigeria – The founder of Chris Okafor and leader of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, has withdrawn the public apology he earlier offered to actress Doris Ogala and other women he said he “wronged in the past,” according to multiple reports.
Okafor’s apology, which went viral in December 2025, saw him kneel before his congregation and express regret over past mistakes while stressing that not all allegations made against him were true. At the time, the gesture was viewed as an attempt to calm public scrutiny and controversy surrounding the clash between the pastor and the actress after she made allegations linked to a past relationship.
In a new video that surfaced online on Wednesday March 4, 2026, Okafor said he was pressured by individuals close to him to apologise and that his earlier apology was meant to protect senior religious leaders who were being pulled into the dispute. He said he no longer wished to apologise “for things he did not do or for people he has not met,” and clarified that the matter is now before the courts.
The pastor explained that his initial public apology was not intended as an admission of guilt but rather as a gesture to diffuse tensions. He reiterated that legal processes should resolve the dispute and urged anyone with evidence to present it in court. The renewed statement has reignited public debate over the matter, with mixed reactions on social media.
