The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that its national convention will hold on April 14, while ward congresses across the country will begin on April 7 as part of preparations to restructure the party ahead of future elections.

Party officials disclosed that the scheduled activities are aimed at strengthening internal party structures and ensuring that grassroots members participate in the leadership selection process.

According to the party leadership, the ward congresses will take place in all wards nationwide where members will elect local executives who will represent the party at higher levels of decision making. The exercise is expected to lay the foundation for state and national party structures.

The party also stated that the national convention slated for April 14 will bring together delegates from across Nigeria to deliberate on key issues affecting the party including leadership positions policy direction and strategies ahead of upcoming political contests.

Political observers say the planned congresses and convention reflect efforts by the ADC to expand its organisational base and position itself as a stronger force in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The party leadership urged members to participate peacefully and ensure the exercise is conducted transparently across all states.
