Manchester City suffered another setback in the Premier League title race after being held to a 1–1 draw by West Ham United, allowing league leaders Arsenal to extend their advantage at the top of the table.

City took the lead in the first half through midfielder Bernardo Silva but West Ham responded with an equaliser from defender Konstantinos Mavropanos who headed home from a Jarrod Bowen corner. Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, City failed to find a winning goal.

The draw proved costly because Arsenal had already secured a 2–0 victory over Everton, pushing them further ahead in the Premier League standings. The result means Arsenal now hold a nine point lead over Manchester City, although City still have a game in hand.

City manager Pep Guardiola admitted his side created many chances but lacked the cutting edge needed to secure victory. He insisted the title race is not over yet, pointing out that several matches remain and that City still have an important upcoming clash against Arsenal.

With only a handful of games left in the season, Arsenal’s consistency has placed them in a commanding position. If they maintain their form, the North London club could end their long wait for another Premier League title.
