Chelsea F.C. have been hit with major disciplinary sanctions after being fined £10.75 million by the Premier League for financial rule breaches.

League authorities confirmed that the club has also been handed a one year transfer ban. However the sanction will be suspended for two years, meaning Chelsea will only face the ban if they commit further breaches within that period.

In addition to the financial penalty the club has also been given a nine month academy transfer ban. This means Chelsea will be temporarily restricted from registering young players into their youth academy system.

The sanctions follow investigations by the Premier League into financial activities linked to the club’s transfer dealings and regulatory compliance.

League officials said the measures were taken to enforce financial discipline and ensure clubs follow the competition’s rules designed to maintain fairness and sustainability.

Despite the penalties the club will still be able to participate in domestic competitions as well as continue with first team operations provided they comply with the conditions attached to the suspended transfer ban.
