Multiple explosions have rocked Maiduguri the capital of Borno State leaving several people injured and triggering panic across parts of the city.

The blasts reportedly occurred on Monday evening around busy areas including the popular Monday Market shortly after residents broke their Ramadan fast. Witnesses said the explosions were heard at about 7 p.m. causing chaos as traders and residents rushed to safety.

Sources said emergency responders and security operatives quickly moved to the affected locations to assist victims and secure the area. Some of the injured were reportedly taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment while authorities worked to assess the scale of the damage.

The Nigeria Police Force in Borno confirmed that bomb explosions occurred in different parts of the city and investigations have begun to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. Officials also warned residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies.
