The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has decorated Jimoh Moshood Olorundare following his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
The decoration ceremony, held at the IGP’s office in Louis Edet House, Abuja, highlights the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to strengthening leadership across key commands nationwide.
Moshood has been deployed as AIG in charge of Zone 2 Command, where he will oversee policing activities in Lagos and Ogun states—two critical economic hubs with significant security responsibilities.
Disu described the promotion as well-earned and urged the newly elevated officer to apply his experience, discipline, and professionalism in addressing security challenges. He also called on officers to demonstrate integrity and expertise in the discharge of their duties.
The new AIG’s appointment follows his tenure as Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, where he gained recognition for adopting proactive, intelligence-led strategies, improving community policing, and intensifying operations against criminal elements.
