Vice President Kashim Shettima paid a condolence visit to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai following the death of his mother, Hajiya Fatima Umma El-Rufai, who passed away on March 27, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt, at the age of 96.
During the visit to the family residence in Abuja, Shettima urged Nigerians to prioritise unity and national cohesion above political differences. He prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and comfort for the bereaved family.
According to his Media Assistant, Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President emphasised the importance of collective efforts in nation-building. Prominent figures received Shettima, including former Bauchi State Governor Ahmad Adamu Muazu, former Chief of Army Staff Abdurrahman Dambazau, and Abdullahi Sarkin Gobir Adiya.
