In a statement, Abbas sympathised with victims and residents of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area, describing the attack by suspected terrorists as gruesome and heinous. He stressed that the Federal Government and security agencies must intensify efforts to clamp down on terrorism and all forms of criminality.
The Speaker warned that Nigeria cannot afford to leave its citizens vulnerable to criminals and non-state actors, emphasizing that the protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of government.
He also advocated stronger collaboration between the federal and sub-national governments, improved cooperation between security agencies, and deeper engagement between authorities and the public to address insecurity effectively.
