The United States has lifted sanctions on Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, removing her from the U.S. Treasury’s sanctions list.
Rodríguez welcomed the move, describing it as a step toward normalising relations and strengthening cooperation between both countries.
The decision follows the removal of former president Nicolás Maduro, who was ousted in a U.S. military operation in January.
Relations between Washington and Caracas have since improved, with Rodríguez agreeing to open Venezuela’s energy sector to American companies.
The U.S. embassy in Caracas has also resumed operations after being closed for seven years, signalling a broader diplomatic reset between the two nations.
