A fresh wave of violence has hit Jos South in Plateau State, leaving three people dead and one injured just 24 hours after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited the area.
The victims—Luka Sandu Pam, Samuel Davou, and Deme Saidu—were ambushed Friday evening while returning from Gero on a motorcycle. They were part of a group of youths heading home from a mining site when gunmen opened fire, forcing others to flee.
Community leaders described the attack as sudden and devastating, raising fresh concerns over rising insecurity in the region. Local voices say the incident reflects a worsening security situation, with fears that more attacks could follow if urgent action is not taken.
Residents also pointed to earlier warnings about suspicious movements in nearby areas, stressing that armed groups may be gaining ground in surrounding bushes.
The injured survivor has been taken to hospital, while security agencies are yet to give an official statement.
