In Cross River State, Bassey Otu called on Christians to embrace hope and togetherness, describing Easter as a powerful symbol of redemption, sacrifice, and victory over adversity. He stressed that the journey from Good Friday to Easter Sunday reflects the enduring message that faith can bring renewal even in difficult times.
Similarly, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State urged Nigerians to pray for lasting peace and harmony, while encouraging citizens to show compassion and extend kindness to the less privileged during the season.
In Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun described Easter as a reminder that after hardship comes triumph. He emphasized the need for unity, faith, and collective effort in building a better society, urging residents to embody values such as humility, forgiveness, and compassion.
Peter Mbah of Enugu State highlighted the importance of peaceful coexistence, calling on Nigerians to reject division and embrace tolerance and mutual respect across religious and ethnic lines.
Meanwhile, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia encouraged Christians to live out the virtues of love, sacrifice, and endurance, stressing the need to strengthen unity and good neighbourliness across communities.
In the North-West, Dikko Radda of Katsina State emphasized that religious harmony is essential for national progress. He noted that unity between Christians and Muslims is key to development, warning that division only hinders growth.
Across the board, the governors agreed that Easter serves as a powerful reminder of hope, renewal, and the importance of unity, urging Nigerians to continue praying for peace, stability, and progress in the country.
