Dr. Bala Wunti, a seasoned oil and gas technocrat and former Managing Director of NAPIMS and PPMC, has officially announced his intention to contest the 2027 gubernatorial election in Bauchi State.

Speaking at the APC local government secretariat along Gombe Road, Wunti said the decision to run was driven by persistent calls from citizens and stakeholders concerned about youth unemployment and the need for meaningful leadership in the state.

“I accepted the contest because of the pressure to rescue the future of Bauchi’s unemployed youth,” he stated, emphasizing that his ambition is rooted in public service rather than personal gain.

He pledged to deliver an inclusive government that guarantees equal rights for all citizens and prioritizes sustainable development across the state’s 20 local government areas. Wunti also congratulated the newly inaugurated APC leadership in Bauchi Local Government Area, expressing confidence in their ability to strengthen the party and achieve its mandate.
