Former Senate President and National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, David Mark, has firmly denied reports claiming he has resigned from his position, describing them as false, malicious, and politically motivated.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Paul Mumeh, the party dismissed the reports as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and create internal confusion. It stressed that there is no truth whatsoever to claims that Mark has stepped down or is considering resignation.

The statement described the rumours as a fabrication by individuals intent on spreading falsehood and destabilising the party, insisting that Mark remains the substantive National Chairman.

Reaffirming its position, the party said its leadership is united, focused, and committed to strengthening democratic values while offering credible political direction to Nigerians.

The African Democratic Congress also warned against attempts to undermine its growing influence, suggesting that such misinformation campaigns are driven by political anxiety ahead of the 2027 general elections.

It further emphasised its resolve to resist any effort aimed at weakening Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or pushing the country toward a one-party system.

The party urged Nigerians to disregard the claims and maintain confidence in its leadership stability and long-term political direction.
