Flutterwave has announced plans to establish its South-East hub in Anambra State as part of efforts to expand financial technology services in the region.

The company’s CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, disclosed the move during a visit to Awka, stating that the initiative aims to deepen access to digital payments and support business growth.

According to him, the planned hub will drive the deployment of payment infrastructure, including POS systems, while also improving access to financing and loan opportunities for small and medium-scale enterprises.

Agboola noted that the company’s recent banking licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria will further strengthen its ability to simplify transactions and support entrepreneurs.

He added that the initiative will include a major impact programme designed to empower local businesses, promote innovation, and create opportunities for tech-driven growth across the state.

The move is expected to position Anambra as a key centre for fintech development in the South-East, with a focus on supporting startups and expanding digital financial inclusion.
