Fresh terrorist attacks have hit Niger, Kwara, and Plateau states, leaving deaths, destruction, and fear in their wake, even as security forces intensify counter-operations across affected regions.
In Niger State, suspected terrorists raided Baga community in Shiroro LGA, killing at least five residents, burning homes, and abducting several others after storming the area in large numbers with heavy weapons. In Kwara State, armed attackers invaded Nuku community in Kaiama LGA, killing a forest guard commander and five of his men, torching buildings, and destroying police patrol vehicles before security forces repelled the assault.
Meanwhile in Plateau State, troops under Operation ENDURING PEACE, backed by vigilantes, launched coordinated offensives in Wase and Kanam LGAs, killing 10 terrorists and recovering rifles, ammunition, motorcycles, and fuel supplies believed to support insurgent logistics.
In Ondo State, Amotekun operatives arrested 164 suspects in a sweeping anti-crime crackdown involving kidnapping, rape, trafficking, robbery, and other offences, while Bauchi State ordered the temporary closure of 24 cattle markets to disrupt criminal networks linked to banditry and cattle rustling.
Authorities in the affected states say intensified tactical operations are ongoing, as governments tighten security measures to contain the growing wave of violence.
