Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has called for greater unity across Nigeria, warning that divisive rhetoric and negative narratives are threatening national stability.

Speaking during a visit by Joseph Ochogwu, Buni urged leaders and citizens to focus on the country’s strengths rather than its shortcomings.

He stressed that Nigeria’s challenges should be addressed through dialogue and cooperation, not used to fuel division or weaken national cohesion.

The governor criticised political statements that deepen tensions, insisting that the majority of Nigerians are law-abiding and committed to the country’s progress.

He maintained that the nation’s identity should reflect its positive values, calling for peace, reconciliation, and responsible discourse to safeguard unity.
