UNESCO has launched a nationwide initiative aimed at improving adolescent health and strengthening inclusive education across four Nigerian states.
The programme, unveiled in Abuja, seeks to address gaps in health awareness, life skills, and access to quality education, particularly for vulnerable groups.
It will be implemented in Enugu, the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, and Ogun, with a target of reaching over one million adolescents.
The initiative combines health education with improved learning systems, while also supporting teachers and institutions to create safer and more inclusive school environments.
Officials say the programme will promote equal access to education, empower young people with essential knowledge, and improve overall learning outcomes across participating states.
