Elon Musk has been invited for a voluntary interview in Paris as part of an ongoing probe into his platform X, though his attendance remains uncertain.

Authorities issued the summons in February under an investigation launched in January 2025 over claims that X’s algorithm interfered in French politics.

The case later expanded to include scrutiny of X’s AI chatbot Grok over the spread of Holocaust denial content and sexual deepfakes.

French prosecutors had earlier searched X’s Paris offices, an action the company criticised as politically driven, while also summoning Musk and former CEO Linda Yaccarino for questioning.

Officials said the investigation will continue regardless of whether those invited appear, focusing on alleged offences including harmful content and violations linked to digital misuse.
