Governor Uba Sani has stated that Kaduna State is now in a better condition compared to when he assumed office, citing progress in security, infrastructure, and economic development.

Speaking at the Nigeria Public Relations Week organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, the governor acknowledged that he inherited a state facing serious security challenges and developmental gaps, but noted that his administration adopted a structured and results-driven governance approach.

He explained that his government implemented a performance system based on measurable outcomes across ministries and agencies, guided by seven strategic pillars, including security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and investment.

On security, the governor said collaboration with national security agencies led to the establishment of new military bases in high-risk areas such as Giwa and Birnin Gwari, alongside the deployment of operational vehicles and motorcycles to improve response capacity. He added that thousands of hectares of farmland have been reclaimed and displaced persons resettled.

In education, the administration reportedly built and renovated classrooms, recruited thousands of teachers, and reduced the number of out-of-school children significantly. Investments have also been made in vocational training to align education with modern economic needs.

Healthcare and infrastructure have also seen expansion, with upgrades to primary healthcare centres, the establishment of specialised facilities, and the execution of road projects across the state.

The governor further highlighted economic gains, noting that over $3.5 billion in investments have been secured or are in the pipeline, reflecting growing investor confidence. Social support initiatives, financial inclusion efforts, and subsidised transport schemes were also cited as part of measures to improve citizens’ welfare.

While acknowledging that challenges remain, Uba Sani maintained that security is improving, economic activity is expanding, and Kaduna is on a path toward sustained growth.
