Air strikes by the Nigerian Air Force have killed several terrorists in the Yuwe axis of Sambisa Forest in the North-East.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation followed sustained pressure on terrorist elements.
In a statement, he noted that the strikes targeted fighters concealed within fortified structures and bunkers in the area.
According to him, the operation was based on credible intelligence supported by Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, which confirmed the presence of active terrorist elements.
NAF air assets engaged the targets using precision munitions, destroying the structures, neutralising multiple fighters, and eliminating key logistics facilities, as confirmed by post-strike assessments.
He added that the continued intensity of air operations is weakening terrorist networks, leaving them increasingly exposed and forcing them into reactive actions.
Following the operation, the Chief of Air Staff, Sunday Aneke, commended the effort and assured that operations would continue.
He stated that the force would sustain intelligence-driven air campaigns until terrorist elements are completely neutralised, while maintaining commitment to protecting personnel, securing the nation, and ensuring civilian safety.
The air force also reiterated that it remains committed to adhering strictly to rules of engagement and minimising civilian harm.
The operation comes months after similar strikes in parts of Borno State, where over 40 terrorists were killed in coordinated attacks in Azir and Musarram.
Ejodame added that earlier operations included an interdiction mission in the Tumbuns area, where aircraft targeted terrorists assembling on canoes along the Baga and Fish Dam axis, disrupting their activities.
The strikes were carried out by aircraft under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai.
