The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Uba Sani as Chairman of its Ekiti State Governorship Election Campaign Council, signalling a strategic move to strengthen its campaign ahead of the upcoming poll.

The appointment was conveyed in a letter dated April 24, 2026, signed by the party’s National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru.

According to the party, Sani’s selection reflects confidence in his leadership record and his contributions to advancing the APC’s objectives. The letter, addressed to the Kaduna State Government House, expressed optimism about his ability to coordinate campaign activities and mobilise support across Ekiti State.

As part of preparations, Sani has also been invited to attend the official flag-off rally scheduled for April 27, 2026, in Ado-Ekiti, marking the formal commencement of the party’s governorship campaign.

The incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji, is seeking a second term under the APC platform.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the governorship election for June 20, 2026. It will be the first such election to be conducted under the leadership of Joash Amupitan.
