Aliko Dangote has urged stronger collaboration between governments and private organisations to accelerate efforts to end malaria across Africa.

Speaking to mark World Malaria Day 2026, he noted that despite progress, sub-Saharan Africa still bears over 90% of the global malaria burden.

Dangote highlighted that the disease continues to heavily impact vulnerable groups, including children, pregnant women, and displaced populations.

He pointed to advances such as new vaccines, improved diagnostics, and data-driven systems, stressing that large-scale and equitable implementation is key.

Calling for deeper public-private partnerships, he said no single sector can defeat malaria alone, while also warning about rising drug and insecticide resistance.
