The Lagos State Government has denied reports alleging that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was asked to resign, describing the claims as false and misleading.
Speaking for the government, Gboyega Akosile said the governor remains in office, in good health, and fully engaged in his duties, stressing that no directive for his resignation exists.
He dismissed suggestions that Bola Tinubu or other political figures were dissatisfied with the state leadership, urging the public to disregard the report.
Akosile also clarified that a recent meeting between the governor and his deputy, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, was routine, noting that Hamzat simply informed Sanwo-Olu of his governorship ambition.
The government maintained that the governor will continue in office and complete his tenure in 2027, advising residents to rely only on verified information.
