President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a two-week international trip covering France, Kenya, and Rwanda, aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and boosting economic partnerships.
According to his spokesperson, the President will first visit France before heading to Nairobi to participate in the upcoming Africa–France Summit. The event, co-hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on key issues such as energy transition, climate action, digital innovation, and reform of global financial systems.
Scheduled for May 11–12, the summit will bring together African and French leaders to explore strategies for economic transformation, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment under the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.”
Following the summit in Kenya, Tinubu will travel to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum, taking place from May 14–15. The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to host over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers, with discussions centered on regional integration, industrial growth, and cross-border investment.
At both events, Tinubu is expected to present Nigeria’s economic reform agenda and engage in high-level meetings with global and African business stakeholders to attract investment.
Accompanied by senior government officials, the President’s tour is seen as part of efforts to position Nigeria as a key player in Africa’s economic and diplomatic landscape. He is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding engagements in Rwanda.
