Kanye West is scheduled to perform in Tirana on July 11, following confirmation from Edi Rama, a move that has generated mixed reactions.

The concert will take place at a temporary venue expected to accommodate about 60,000 attendees. Authorities say the event will be funded through ticket sales and is intended to attract visitors to the country.

Officials state that the show could benefit hotels, travel, and local businesses, adding that it forms part of a broader effort to bring international acts to Albania.

However, the announcement has drawn criticism, with some pointing to the artist’s past statements and behaviour, as well as recent cancellations of his shows in parts of Europe following backlash.

Supporters argue the focus should remain on the music, while government officials maintain that the event is aimed at boosting economic activity and increasing global visibility.
