A fresh clash has erupted within the Peoples Democratic Party as Nyesom Wike dismissed the party’s interim leadership arrangement as fraudulent, insisting there is no leadership vacuum and that the only recognised structure remains at Wadata House in Abuja.
Wike warned Nigerians against what he described as attempts to mislead party members through the creation of a caretaker committee, questioning its legitimacy and challenging the group to demonstrate authority by operating an official party account and recognised secretariat.
In response, the camp of Tanimu Turaki downplayed Wike’s remarks, describing them as unnecessary and unworthy of engagement, while urging him to wait for the certified true copy of the Supreme Court judgment.
The group criticised Wike’s comments as inappropriate and advised those allegedly defamed to seek legal action, maintaining that no individual is above the law.
Meanwhile, a PDP professional group referenced the ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, stating that it had already settled key issues by affirming suspensions within the party and nullifying a previous Federal High Court judgment, further intensifying the ongoing leadership dispute.
