Renaissance Africa Energy Company says it plans to scale crude oil production to 500,000 barrels per day by 2030, positioning the target as both an economic and sustainability-driven goal.

The company, part of a joint venture with NNPC Limited, TotalEnergies, and AENR, said the projection goes beyond volume, focusing on value for the economy, communities, and environmental impact.

Its Vice President for Relations and Sustainable Development, Igo Weli, disclosed this during the launch of a community eyecare outreach in Gokana, Rivers State.

Represented at the event, he said the company is also prioritising domestic gas utilisation as a key driver of industrial growth, noting that current operations have already boosted Nigeria’s crude output by over 200,000 barrels per day while supplying gas to Bonny NLNG.

The outreach programme, organised with Kolmarg Eyesight Foundation, is targeting thousands of residents, addressing preventable vision issues such as cataracts and refractive errors.

Officials from NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services added that the joint venture remains focused on community development, with the initiative expected to exceed its initial 5,000-beneficiary target.

State health authorities also used the event to encourage residents to enrol in the contributory health scheme for improved access to affordable healthcare services.
