The All Progressives Congress has set Monday, May 18, 2026, as the date for the commencement of its National Assembly primary elections in Zamfara State.
The party disclosed that the primaries will take place across designated ward centres throughout the state.
This was announced in a notice issued by Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, Chairman of the APC National Assembly Primary Election Committee for Zamfara State, who urged aspirants, members and supporters to depend strictly on official communications from the committee.
Aliyu cautioned against relying on conflicting reports, stating that any information outside the committee’s official notice is “unauthorized, null and void.”
According to the statement, all participants are expected to maintain peaceful conduct and fully adhere to the guidelines set for the exercise.
He reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to delivering a transparent, free, fair and credible primary election process.
Aliyu also advised party faithful and stakeholders to direct all inquiries through the committee’s official communication channels.
The committee comprises Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu as chairman, Yusuf Dingyida, Bala Usman Horse, Samuel Shwarta, Barrister Joshua Wapdil, Usaini Gotu, with Hycenth Henlong Tuamyil serving as secretary.
