Bala Mohammed and other aspirants of the Allied People’s Movement have received their expression of interest and nomination forms as the party begins preparations for screening and the 2027 general elections.
The forms were presented by party chairman Auwal Isa as part of processes leading to screening, clearance, and eventual submission to Independent National Electoral Commission in line with electoral guidelines.
Mohammed leads the list of aspirants and is aiming to break the jinx by becoming an ex-governor elected into the Senate, alongside other senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly hopefuls who also received forms.
The development follows a stakeholders’ consensus that produced candidates across key positions, including the governorship ticket zoned to Bauchi North, with Yakubu Adamu emerging and Mahmud Babamaji as running mate, while aspirant Farouk Mustapha publicly backed the outcome.
The party leadership described the consensus process as a demonstration of political maturity and expressed confidence that growing acceptance of APM could position it to spring surprises in the 2027 polls.
