The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking, intercepting cocaine and opioid consignments cleverly hidden in export packages bound for the United Kingdom and Australia.

During a routine inspection at a Lagos courier facility, operatives uncovered cocaine concealed within carton walls, while another shipment revealed a stash of opioids—including tramadol and injectable substances—disguised among goods headed overseas.

Beyond the export interceptions, the agency carried out large-scale operations in Delta State, destroying cannabis farms spread across multiple hectares and arresting suspects linked to the cultivation and distribution network. In total, about 65,000 kilograms of skunk were eliminated in coordinated raids.

Similar enforcement actions across Kaduna, Ogun, Taraba, Kano, Edo, and the Federal Capital Territory led to further seizures of illicit drugs, arrests of suspects, and the dismantling of distribution channels—including a case involving drug-infused baked goods intended for social events.

NDLEA leadership reaffirmed its commitment to tackling both the supply and demand sides of drug abuse, combining aggressive enforcement with ongoing public awareness campaigns nationwide.
