Dangote Industries Limited has once again cemented its status as one of Africa’s most powerful corporate institutions after being named the continent’s Most Admired African Brand for an unprecedented eighth straight year.
The recognition was announced during the unveiling of the 2026 Brand Africa rankings in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, following a consumer survey spanning 30 African countries and covering more than 85 percent of the continent’s population and economic activity.
The conglomerate outperformed several major African brands to retain the top position in aided brand recall, while also maintaining its dominance as Africa’s leading industrial brand and one of the continent’s strongest drivers of economic and social development.
Brand Africa credited Dangote’s sustained success to its expansive investments across critical sectors including cement, fertiliser, petrochemicals, energy, agriculture, logistics and manufacturing, all of which have contributed significantly to industrialisation and job creation across Africa.
The latest rankings also recognised the company as the African brand making one of the strongest contributions toward a better continent, reflecting its impact on economic growth, infrastructure development and regional self-sufficiency.
Despite increasing support for African-made products, the survey revealed that indigenous brands still occupy only a small fraction of Africa’s most admired brands, underscoring the challenge local companies face in competing with global giants.
Further boosting the Group’s achievements, its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, earned a place among Africa’s 100 Most Influential Chief Marketing Officers. The honour celebrates executives whose leadership has strengthened brand reputation, consumer trust and corporate influence across the continent.
The recognition adds to a growing list of accolades for Dangote Industries, which was previously inducted into the Brand Africa Hall of Fame in acknowledgement of its long-standing excellence and consistent presence among the continent’s most respected brands.
With the latest award, Dangote continues to stand as one of Africa’s most recognisable business success stories, reinforcing its influence not only in Nigeria but across the entire continent.
