Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the conflict involving Iran and Hezbollah is far from over, despite Iran’s decision to temporarily halt missile attacks against Israel.

According to Iranian officials, Tehran has paused its military operations but warned that it could resume strikes if Israel continues targeting locations in Lebanon, particularly areas linked to Hezbollah.

The latest tensions erupted after both sides exchanged attacks over the weekend, marking the first direct military confrontation since a U.S.-brokered ceasefire was reached between Washington and Tehran in April. Iran launched missiles toward northern Israel, accusing Israel of breaching the truce through repeated strikes in Lebanon, while Israel responded with what it described as a large-scale attack on strategic defense targets.

Netanyahu maintained that although Iran and Hezbollah have been weakened, the conflict remains unresolved and could escalate again.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed confidence that a ceasefire remains achievable, urging both countries to stop hostilities immediately. Trump said peace negotiations were continuing and suggested progress could be made quickly if both sides remain committed to dialogue.

Despite the diplomatic efforts, signals from Tehran indicate skepticism about the prospects of a near-term agreement with Washington, highlighting the fragile nature of the current situation.

As fears of a broader regional conflict eased slightly, global oil prices retreated after earlier gains driven by concerns over instability in the Middle East.
