The African Democratic Congress has dismissed suggestions that it may merge with any existing political party ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that it will pursue its political ambitions independently.

Speaking in Ilorin, Bolaji Abdullahi said the party remains committed to building its platform while welcoming alliances based on shared values and political ideology rather than outright mergers.

Abdullahi noted that the ADC has continued to attract new members and expressed confidence in the quality of candidates produced through its recent primaries for legislative and governorship positions.

He called on Nigerians to support the party in 2027, arguing that the country needs new leadership to tackle challenges such as insecurity, economic hardship, kidnapping, and banditry.

The former minister also criticised the policies of the ruling All Progressives Congress, claiming they have worsened living conditions for many citizens. He urged party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.

Expressing optimism about the party’s prospects, Abdullahi said the ADC has credible candidates and believes it can secure victories in both Kwara State and across the country in 2027. He added that achieving meaningful political change would require active participation and support from Nigerians, not just political candidates.
