Governor Ademola Adeleke has voiced frustration over the security situation in Osun State, accusing the state’s police commissioner of failing to work effectively with other security agencies amid rising reports of violence and political unrest.

The governor described the situation as deeply troubling, claiming that poor coordination among security operatives was contributing to recurring disturbances in parts of the state.

According to Adeleke, while other security agencies have been making efforts to maintain order, he believes the lack of cooperation from the police command has undermined those efforts and worsened tensions.

His comments followed reports of a violent clash involving suspected political thugs, with allegations that gunshots were fired during the confrontation, causing panic among residents.

Adeleke also accused individuals linked to political interests of fueling instability and violence, insisting that such actions threaten the peace the state has worked to maintain.

Despite the tensions, the governor appealed to residents to remain calm and avoid retaliatory actions that could escalate the crisis further.

He disclosed that he had already contacted senior security officials, including military and police authorities, to seek urgent intervention and restore normalcy.

The governor said he had reported the matter to the Inspector General of Police and top military commanders, stressing that decisive action was needed to prevent further violence and ensure public safety.
