The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially uploaded the nomination details of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal as preparations for the 2027 general election gather momentum.

The party announced the development through its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who described the submission as a significant milestone in the ADC’s campaign preparations. According to him, the move reflects the party’s readiness to present what it considers a credible leadership option focused on national unity, competence, and development.

Meanwhile, INEC has revealed that nine political parties have already obtained access codes required to upload the particulars of their candidates for the forthcoming elections.

Speaking in Abuja, INEC National Commissioner for Voter Education and Publicity, Malam Haruna, said the parties that have collected the nomination access codes include the Accord Party, Action Alliance (AA), African Democratic Congress (ADC), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), National Democratic Party (NDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Haruna explained that political parties are responsible for collecting the access codes directly from the electoral commission rather than expecting INEC to deliver them to party offices. He added that anyone collecting the codes must present a formal letter of authorisation from the leadership of the respective political party.

He further urged all participating parties to strictly comply with INEC’s candidate nomination guidelines throughout the submission process.
