Air Peace and its Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Allen Onyema, have been honoured with top awards at the 9th National Tourism Transportation Summit & Expo (NTTSE) 2026 for their contributions to aviation development, regional connectivity and African integration.
The honours were presented during the summit’s gala night at the Banquet Hall of the NICON Luxury Hotel in Abuja, just days before the airline begins operations on new regional routes connecting Lagos with Bamako, Conakry, Douala and Libreville.
Air Peace received the Nigeria’s Largest Airline & Regional Expansion Leadership Award, while Onyema was presented with the Aviation Leadership & Continental Connectivity Award in recognition of his efforts to strengthen aviation links across Africa and promote trade and economic integration.
The airline said the awards underscore its expanding role in improving connectivity across the continent and advancing socio-economic integration through aviation. It added that its growing regional network continues to support the movement of people, tourism and trade while contributing to the vision of a more connected African market.
Reacting to the recognition, Air Peace spokesperson, Efeoghene Osifo-Whiskey, said the awards reaffirm the airline’s commitment to reshaping Africa’s aviation landscape through strategic regional expansion and stronger connectivity. He also appreciated the organisers for recognising the airline’s efforts toward regional integration and increased access across the continent.
Also commenting, the Chairman’s Special Assistant on Communications, Hawa Alege, said the recognition reflects Dr. Allen Onyema’s longstanding vision of using aviation as a tool for African unity, economic growth and stronger ties among nations.
The latest honours further expand Air Peace’s growing list of industry recognitions as the airline prepares to strengthen its presence across the African region.
